Fans of the Es Cavallet and Las Salinas beaches must have seen this restaurant in the village of Sant Francesc de s’Estany: Bar San Francisco.

Although the location, so right on the highway, is not very inviting, we were very curious. It is always crowded with locals, and the staff of Las Salinas ‘ fancy restaurants also go there for after-work drinks.

Cecilia has been the owner since 2014. Before that, the restaurant was for the legendary Maria, a tough woman who attracted many bikers.

The bar is open from 11:30 a.m. to midnight; the kitchen closes as early as 6 p.m. in winter, around 9 a.m. in summer.

The menu consists mainly of tapas, salads, freshly squeezed juices and, for the big eater, a burger.

Really try their “quesadillas” with goat cheese, fresh thyme and honey!
